you shouldnt drink from a straw while you are still healing,because it causes air to go into your stomach,which creates more gas.

Really depends on your doctor mine said no Straws the first couple weeks then its fine

I drink from a straw all of the time - at least once a day, I do not drink carbonated beverages, however.

I have not ever had an issue, and I drank from a straw from the first day after surgery (in the hospital).

Thanks I needed to know that. I had the same question!

I think that's a your mileage may vary thing. A friend of mine uses them all the time with no problems. If I take even a few sips with one I get pain and gas. I just stay away.
