How many ccs constitute an aggressive first-time fill?

Also, on what day do you get to eat solids? For me, it's day 22. I'm just curious about patients at other clinics.

My dr is conservative. I think my first fill was 1cc. He doesn't like it to be to tight. His motto is we can always add more.

I was banded on December 9..... I was on 3 weeks of liquid then mushies.... On January 1 for a week then I was able to move to solids at almost 4 weeks post op

My clinic only does 1cc fills...........easier to creep up to restriction than to blow right past it and try to figure out what to take out. I did blenderized and pureed on post op day 14 for a week and then graduated to finely chopped ground meats about 10 days after that.

Were you able to lose weight being on liquids in those 3 weeks? Did u still have to aim for 1200 (or less) calories while on liquids?

I just had my second fill a week ago. Between my first and 2nd fill was 2 weeks (family situation brought be back to the city where my dr is - 6hr drive so I decided to ask for a fill. as I was in town) I did not lose anything in those 2 weeks. I have 5 weeks between fill 2 and 3 so will get a better idea. I do try to stick to 1200 calories/day. The last 2 days have been tough but am regrouping in my head for a great week.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
