Have 2 incision they developed this rash and itch 7 days post op. i have left a msg for the dr. Yellow is a bruise.

I got that to and it wasn't from an infection my skin had an allergic reation to the sterry strips.

I would think that as well but my other 3 incisions are fine.

But the other 3 incisions are fine.

Only one that broke out for me was the big one that the port is in.

It doesn't look infected but rather like a bad reaction to the adhesive on your skin.

It's good you called your doctor, though. Always better safe than sorry.

I finally got so annoyed with it after like 4 days that I picked them off and rinsed my skin and instantly felt better.

I think Missy is right. I had same thing from bandages.

yes, that is probley what it is, an allergic reaction. I had that and they were taken off and the dr said not to use anything like neosporin, just let them get air. It clears up pretty quick. But you still should ask your dr.

could you be allergic to something in the dressing? i had red square marks where my dressings had been for two months after op! well weird lol

I had the same thing. A really bad reaction to the adhesive and steri strips. Wash with soap and water and use witch hazel - just pour it over the incisions. It helps with the itching and it's a natural astringent.

Come on people, we are not doctors! Ask these questions of a medical professional!

Cheznoel-- she did ask the dr. She said she left a message. She is just hear in the meantime to see if it is a common problem.

The dr advised it could be fron adhesive or yeast build up uder the bandages recomended clean with an astringent and using bendryl gel. If it does not clear up get anti fungle powder and dap for 2 days till i see the dr. It appears i could be alergic to the steri strips another incision is red now... Well at least its not infected
