Scared Of Losing Weight

Recommended Posts

Has this ever happen to any one

I feel scared of losing my weight like how an I going to look? Where is all this fat going to go? Will I have lots of skin left? Will my husband like me after?

I don't know if this is normal but it plays with my head a lot !

Weight can be a security blanket. Its not uncommon to be concerned about change. Its the unknown and no one is usually comfortable with it. You may want to seek counseling to help you deal with the pending changes to your body. It wouldnt be a crime to talk to a professional and might do you a world of good.

It you want to see what losing 215 lbs looks like.. check out my gallery on my profile. Granted it doesnt show the wrinkly thighs I have, the saggy butt or the frowning belly button... but I look pretty decent in clothes and according to my husband the rest of it is better than the hard fat was... even tho he loved me then as well.

i dont have that problem because I cant even begin to picture what I might look like. As far as the skin I only know what my doctor told me and that is you wont know until you get there and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. In saying that I saw some people who posted things you can do if you look back in the posts or maybe they will contribute here. The best advice I think I can give you is try to live each day at a time. Focus on what you need to do and they rest will happen. I do agree with when you get there you may want to see a counselor. Sometimes we need help with our body image.

Best of luck to you! :)

Thank you!

I have lost weight before but never over 60lbs I have been over weight all my life

I know I will be ok

Like you said I need to take it one day at a time.....but I can tell you where is coming from ... My cousin witch was my BFF also!

When I told her I was considering wls 3yrs ago told me flat out NO! She started telling me how ugly my body was going to look and lots of negative stuff ... And it stuck in my head ever seance ... She's no longer my BFF not because of that but other stuff that happened but anyway I never told that side of the family I was having the surgery only because of negative ppl that they are! I'm working at this everyday and I know it will get better.... I did this for my health!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
