Hi everyone,

First time poster and just wanted a little feedback.

I had my original band surger on 1-25-06 and lost 25 pounds before my first fill. I went in for my first fill in Feb and they were unable to do it and scheduled me for flouroscopy and at that time discovered I had blown my port. I had surgery on 3-30-06 to repair my port and at that time recieved 1 cc. My question is, I had some restriction before my fill, not much, but some, now I have none. I called the doctor this morning and asked could my band have slipped or something and he told me no, that I would be sick if it had. It just seems unusual that I have no restiction now. I can't get my next fill until the swelling goes down from surgery.

Any ideas or anything similiar happen to anyone else?

So glad I found this sight and look forward to being a part of the group.

Carole

Welcome Carole.

I can't give any input on restriction, because I have'nt had a fill.

Hang in there and hopefully you will be able to get another fill soon!

My doctor referred to my port being "blown", because all of the stitches had came out and my port was no longer attached, just floating around.

Carole,

Sound like the same thing that happened to me. Seven wks out from surgery I was having extreme pain in my lower ab area so I went to the ER where they discovered my port had separated from my band and the port was just floating around. I got it repaired and doc put in 1.66cc of saline in during the surgery so I wasnt as hungry.

Hope your feeling better.

Carole-

I had 1CC for my first fill and felt NO restriction for two weeks following the fill. Then it hit me like a brick. Give it a little more time, everyone has a different reaction to fills.

By the way, my second fill was a week ago and it was .5CC. This time, the restriction hit me about three days later.

Also, with the first fill it was painless and I felt a little sore the rest of the day and the next day I was fine. This time, a week later as I type I still feel totally bruised and sore by my port (doesn't feel like an infection though, just still really sore!)

Heather,

Thanks so much for writing. I too have started feeling a little more restriction as well. It will be two weeks tomorrow since I had my first fill and to have started feeling it. I have my next fill 1 week from today.

Again, thanks so much for responding. I don't feel so weird now!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
