Well if it desolves completely and it is not at risk of swelling once it gets in your stomach. I would ask your doctor but I wouldn't do it.

Just remember that during the liquids phase you are not taking in any solids or bulk so your body has nothing to move.

There was absolutly stuff moving for me and my clinic seemed most concerned that I have a BM in the first 5 days post surgery when I was on liquids. They brought it up to me pre surgery and phone me the day after surgery to remind me to take stuff to get things moving.

I was not required to do a liquid preop diet. Low cal n low fat. Ive been finding information that benefiber is fine to take as needed. It doesnt blow up..and dissolves completely.

BeneFiber is OK. I used it a lot. If you still have problems Miralax was recommended by my nurse practitioner and seemed to work better for me.

I use the Clear Metamusil in my one cup of decaf every morning. Constipation is a problem many banded people have after surgery. I never had any problem before banding, but now... Trying to get enough Fiber in is hard. I'm sticking to low carb because of getting off sugar.
