Even during full liquid stage I was having tomato soup to get the veggies in. In general my doctor wants 3 oz solid protein and then veggies and or fruit. I have about 1/2 cup of veggies lunch and dinner.

My dr does not have me monitoring as long as I get 3 oz of protein and veg/fruit when I eat. He only wants me eating when hungry and no liquid protein any more. That means 2 meals a day these days. Each dr/nut has different recommendations so check with yours.

this is what i do and it works for me

i try to eat 3-4oz of protein each meal with my veggies (fruit for a snack)

i do drink a protein shake per day to help.

i do this for my breakfast as i am too tight to eat. (with my dr's okay).

i also take vitamins to help per my dr and nutritionist instructions.

I don't focus on anything but 1000 calories every day which includes for each meal 3-4 oz of protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 c startch and a snack of fruit.
