  1. Thanks for the input!
  2. I've had my band for going on 18 months and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of my life but lately... I am a burping machine and in silence my stomach is like a full orchestra with noises that are kind of unnerving, never painful or even uncomfortable at all just.., noisy. Also I cannot stop burping! Cannot! Little ones, big ones just constant and sometimes they make me feel better but sometimes they are just epic and untimely if you catch my drift. I have been considering a slight unfill but as I have done so well (started at 290 now 185 for several months) to say I'm not a little chicken would be a lie. I now have a life where I did not. I work better I feel tremendously better and have waaaaaay more energy. Just kinda spooked. I have had short periods over this journey that I feel extra tight but they have always passed. This has been going on for a bit now and has now progressed to PBing which I NEVER had. Strange thing is that I had my last fill probably 6months ago (7cc in a 14cc band) and have maintained my weight loss to the pound for about the last 5months. Doing great otherwise but after having a healthy smoothie I burped a good deal of it up. Sorry for the tmi but grrrrr! Somebody throw me a bone. Probably will end up getting 1/2 cc unfill but the timing is just very odd
  3. Ok so I love my band and wish I had the means to do it years ago. Always been the chubby kid and young adult but NO MORE... Ok rant is over. I had surgery on July 2 and have since lost 80 lbs and have 6.5cc's in a 14cc band (doc calls me his rockstar!) I would like to admit a thing or two. You can't change 40+ years of bad eating habits in under a year.., CAN'T! Just like you can't be the NON-GYM person for the majority of your life and change that as quickly either. Yes yes, bad me... Moving on. I am more than pleased with the weight loss and its may be more than I deserve, happy now? So here's my question, does anyone else feel as if their band has a min of its own? Sometimes I feel tight, sometimes loose. As for the first time in a long time I am attempting to have a life and as well as everything has gone this is a frustration I would love to solve or be able to predict. It's NOT that I'm trying to eat more but honestly sometimes I have trouble eating enough. Please read the article I poached and post your non scolding replies... Thank You in advance. 4. Having basically the same thing... Got a 14cc band with about 5 in. Had 1/2 cc right before Xmas. I've had sliming after one or two bites. Thinking about having it removed but I'm gonna try to eat smaller bites (if that's possible). Very frustrating but I have appt on 15th. The plan was to get an additional 1/2cc but I need to decide whether to go through with it or have that last 1/2 removed. Weight loss has been awesome since surgery 7/6/12. 35lbs to goal Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  5. Question for all: Shortly after my last few fills I have been having instances of sliming.., that is a rush of saliva in my throat accompanied by a large air bubbles. Does anyone have a remedy. I take very small bites, chew thoroughly and have recently discoveted (on a side note) that cold or iced liquids seem to tighten me up considerably. Thanks in advance for your comments... 10. My doc does 1cc at a time... (only had my first one on Monday). I think it's a $ thing although he said he will do one each month. If the realize band is the 14cc band, that's what I got too Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  11. All is well, great doc... Stung a little but no big (really, no big). Got 1cc in my 14cc band (finally got that answered)... Back in a month for another go
  12. Ok so I was banded on July 2,2012 and have been doing great, down to 236 from 267 day of surgery. Here's my question. since surgery I was NEVER hungry anymore. Been getting ALL of my daily protein and most-ish of my fluids in but about 10 days ago I began actually feeling hungry again I am two weeks past the usual time my dr typically does first fills. I still don't know what size band I got but I think it's a 14cc band... What fill should I expect? 4cc-5cc or am I dreaming? It's almost 9am now and fill is at 11am (ironically on my lunch break)
  13. What can I expect? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  14. Actually its just to the left of my port (my port is just above the bigger incision
  15. Got the same thing... Called my Dr. a few days ago and I haven't heard back. Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I should remember to ask you all first. Response time is sooo much faster & complete. I'm about 5 weeks out but I've noticed it for almost two
  16. I have had everything checked, thyroid good, all systems go. Also, getting PLENTY of sleep. I will try the walking more (kinda tough around here, it's really, really hot here in the southeast). I work at a school and regularly walk all over campus daily in my work. I just got no juice Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  17. So banded one month tomorrow, meeting daily Protein, getting as much Fluid in as possible but I have been so tired and almost lethargic it's getting in the way of enjoying my almost 30lb weight loss. Considered taking a stab at some excercise but then I figure I'll have to eat more! I'm never ever really hungry anymore so I don't think I could. Please respond like I know you all will! :-p Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  18. I know, I know the true TMI topic but I am interested in any input. Mine has changed DRASTICALLY since being banded so much so that it is concerning... Anyone else care to weigh in??
  19. Hello All! Just trying to create a list of the HIGHEST protein foods... Ready, Set, Go!!!
  20. Had Surgery on July 2 and have to say it's been a rough road but I've been back to "normal" for only a few days now... Follow directions and it will be ok. Took me awhile to accept that but its the truth. I even thought this surgery was a "set it and forget it" situation...WRONG. I put even more thought into what I eat, when I eat it & when to start & when to stop... It's another job, deal with it get over it and get used to it... It's not all bad... I'm down close to 30lbs already!
  21. 2nd Day of real-ish food and NO PROBLEMS!!! Struggling to meet protein/calorie goal because I'm NOT ever hungry ?? Foods I enjoy (healthy of course) still smell good.., just really NOTot interested. Anyone else have this?
  22. Haven't had a fill yet but had the same question, seafood is sooo healthy for the most part (good oils & protein) I thought it would be a good excuse to treat myself to seafood more often when the time comes
  23. Thanks! This is the kind of stuff I'm looking for...Real world insights
  24. I am looking for any and all experiences, insight, symptoms and relief methods from anyone who has been "STUCK"... Come one come all! Rookies & Veterans Welcome and encouraged to respond!!!
  25. Well, ended up in urgent care last night followed by the er... Without getting into tmi, it was NOT gas :-/. Anyway, had full work up (CT, X-rays, ultrasound) and all is well with the band. Thanks to the great staff at DRH (you guys rock, and addressed my crippling pain first!). Went to Walgreens and got chewable flintstones with iron rather than the sizable costco style I had been taking (flintstones are more complete as well). Thanks to my LBT CREW for all your comments! Gonna work on my fluid intake as well, heard you all loud and clear!
