October 2012 Bandsters

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone, I'm starting this because we are mid way through the month so I'm guessing about half of us have had the procedure done. The October Bandsters thread has been really great with all the positive comments, suggestions and support. It would be great to keep that community going.

I'm two days post surgery. My pain meds are working fine. The surgery was easier than I expected and I hope the recovery keeps going as well.

How is everyone?

Yeah it takes time for that. Just do what you can and hydrate as much as possible. I found that sugar free pop cycles were easier that water so do what you can and rest!

Amen!

I got banded the 17th. I am not in pain, but still have air in my chest. However am not hungry at all, but am shaky... Any ideas on what I can do to eat? I'm having to make myself drink broth even though I'm not hungry, just need to gain strength... I can walk around just fine...

I was also banded on the 17th. Sipping water and beef broth. I also am not hungry but I'm going to try some tomato soup. Just sip as much as u can. We should feel much better by Monday

10 Days until I am banded. What's a few things I should bring with me? Any advice?

Chapstick, listerine strips. Hopefully you'll be home in a few hours after surgery so make sure you have gasX and heating pad ready.

Amen to being a great group!

I can't wait until next Friday when I am also banded!!!

I would agree chapstick is a must!!!

I just have to say today I was allowed to start having mushies so I decided I was going to have some oatmeal. I mixed it with my protein powder and some skim milk. Can I say it was sooooo awesome. :)

I had to stay overnight so I loved having my own slippers along with some very loose pants to put under my hospital gown.

I also brought something to do before surgery, I was there at 8:30 but didn't go in for surgery until noon (something happend in the surgery before mine).

I wrote a blog entry about my experience with my surgery last week if you would like to read it. I'm pretty sure that I list the items that I brought along to the hospital as well.

they are recipe books written by a lady who lost 70kg in a year just by eating whats in these books,, the recipes are sooo yummy and soo easy to cook,, each recipe even has the calorie and protien and carb intake chart down the bottom of each recipe :)

I was banded on Thursday, came home from the hospital today. I hadn't eaten anythig and I am up about 9 lbs? I was on an intevenous for the whole time with fluids could this be it? anyones have this happen. I think I saw this on another.

I was seven pounds heavier coming home from the hospital. I googled it, and it's apparently a reaction to the IV fluids and the body's healing process.

im 4 days out.. i can have tomato soup?????
