October 2012 Bandsters

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone, I'm starting this because we are mid way through the month so I'm guessing about half of us have had the procedure done. The October Bandsters thread has been really great with all the positive comments, suggestions and support. It would be great to keep that community going.

I'm two days post surgery. My pain meds are working fine. The surgery was easier than I expected and I hope the recovery keeps going as well.

How is everyone?

I'm 10 days post banding and I'm wondering if you are supposed to be able to feel your band under your skin if you touch your stomach? Any one else able to?

well its under the longest incision which is pretty much right in the middle over my stomach so I would have thought it would be the band as opposed to a port, but who knows! basically i was laying on my back and i can feel something hard under the biggest incision just running my hand over it. Maybe it is the port though. I've put in an email to my coordinator at the doctors but just wanted to see if anyone else had something like it!

my understanding is that our stomach's and our bands are on the left and our ports are slightly to the right of out belly buttons,,i wouldnt stress too much tho, cuz until all the swelling goes down properly things will be pushed to the surface ,, and things that should be hard will be,, i freaked out a week post op cuz the whole right side of my belly was sort hard to touch and i freaked out thinking i had internal bruising or something,, but nope jumped on here and was told that its normal,, its just the swelling and your body adjusting,,

6.8 kilos since surgery is awesome! Overdoing your exercise? How do you mean? I've been doing 2 miles a day for the past 4 days at 15 minute miles on an elliptical runner. Is that too much - my over zealous desire to be skinny in the time it takes to blink may cloud my judgment on such matters!

I'm so jealous you get a fill - They put a tiny amount in my band at surgery but i'm still only satisfied for about 1.5 hours each time I eat so I look forward to the fuller feeling!

Hi all!

I was banded on 10/11/12' date=' so I'm still on clears. I'm feeling good but having a hard time getting any protein in. The shakes make me nauseated and I haven't found anything I can stomach for protein yet. (I only got down about 10 gm yesterday and I know that's nowhere near what I need.) I've ordered the Unjury stuff cause I hear it's *pretty good*.

Happy to be here! Can't wait for mushies....[/quote']

You will love it.

I was banded yesterday? When I came home I was 4 lbs heavier ! Feel bloated. How much fluid per day did they tell

I got banded today. I was really shocked that the procedure didn't take long. Right now I am on clear liquids but I don't feel really hungry. I have lost 10 pounds so far. I was wondering how soon can I start exercising, I know I can walk but is it okay for me to walk a mile or two?

I was advise to try and get 20 oz in and tomorrow work up to 60 oz.

DON'T TOUCH THE SCALE THIS WEEK! I've heard that it's totally normal to gain a little right after.
