Just got my first fill today and right above where the insertion was I have a huge bruise... Is that normal?

Just started soft foods on Friday, weighed myself today, and had gained 4lbs since Wednesday!!! How is this possible???

I heard back from the nurse, she thinks its just irratation. Absolutely no throwing up or feeling like it. I have a lot of burps though...

I just got banded on the 17th and am worried that my band might have slipped. I just started being able to eat puréed foods (yogurt, apple sauce, etc). I woke up this morning with a tightness in my chest and a gurgling sound in my abdomen area. The sound comes and goes, but the tightness changes from a little to a lot and a little again. Also, today is my first day at work, so can't really lie down like I had been. I called the drs office, haven't heard back yet. I am also already scheduled for my barium study on the 31st... Any ideas?

Had my surgery on the 17th and am still not hungry... I am trying to drink my protein shakes, but they don't even taste good anymore. I am drinking crystal light and trying broth but I'm just not hungry and feel I'm force feeding myself... What can I do?

I'm having my surgery tomorrow too! We will do fine and be looking and feeling good quickly!!!! I'll pray for u! I go in at 6:45a!

I find it weird that some doctors require ONLY protein shakes and liquids when others are allowed like 2oz. of meat, 1/2 cup vegetable, 1/2 cup fruit? What did your doctor do? Did seeing this information from other posters make you think about cheating if your on a liquid diet???

Ladymarshall - my doctors do bariatric advantage, but it was making me sick so the other option they gave me was Atkins which is awesome. Just ask them if u can do it.

I know, but some people have lost 10-20 on the same diet! Mine in all liquid (Atkins advantage shakes).... Just wish I could do the same thing!

Mine is all liquid... Atkins shakes and sugar free drinks (crystal light, fruit2o), broth, and sugar free jello or Popsicles...

If u don't mind me asking, how heavy were u before? I'm 256...

About how much weight did u lose each day on your PRE-op diet? Today is my 3rd day and I've only lost 1...

Cindy- I looked it up.. Carnation has 20g of sugar compared to 1 in bariatric advantage and like 16g of of carbs compared to 7... I don't think they will let me do that.. Thank you for a great alternative!

I can still smell it on my hands!!! That makes me feel sick!
