Like CG said :)

Also, go back to why you made this decision. I am pretty sure you did your research and thought this through. It is natural to be nervous. We have all been there. We may have felt we couldn't do it but we could and WE DID. You will too!!! You CAN do this and the weight loss even during the pre-op is quite motivating!!

I am doing the pre op diet now and I thought I could not but I know now I can. I thought I have done worse things to my body just to get thin, this is nothing I have not tried before. eh but this time I will have a better outcome.

I am on day 5 of my pre op diet and had been doing ok up until today. Was a really hard day today but I am looking forward to tomorrow. 9 more days and I will be banded and the pre op diet will be a thing of the past.

You have not been approved by your insurance yet but are doing the pre-op diet?

I am a long way from gettting everything done I need to so my insurance will approve me but for some reason that seems odd to me.

nervous?

that is a good sign for some.

It's like beeing nervous on your wedding day this is a huge thing surgery it's a lifetime commitment just like a marriage.

The liquid diet /pre op diet is very simmilar to how you will be eating for the first few weeks following your surgery. Trust me you can do it, we all did and can.

Come in to chat for support and feel free to come and voice and concerns, or good and bad things we hear it all. or feel free to write a post. You are making a commitment to yoursel fand your health, these are the first days in a wonderful journey.

I'm not gonna lie i had a mini freak out the day before my surgery, and i think it was healthy and i needed to get all of my what if's out of my head. For me so far the lapband has been the only thing that has worked.

Welcome to the Lapband I hope you enjoy your jouney.

This is a journey, not a simple fix. Of course you will have good and bad days, now as always. But I expect that over time your eating habits will change, as mine have. I don't miss Bagels or Pasta. Sometimes I'll have a bagel crust, or a piece of pasta, but that's it. I've had enough for many lifetimes and am so glad that I don't crave them any more. It takes time to get to the right fill level for each person, so in that time you gradually learn what you can eat and cannot eat, how much, when etc. The band gave me something I lacked-- an internal brake, something physical to say that I'm full. Without that I'm a bottomless pit. It did not happen immediately, but it did happen. It's been 4 1/2 years now (including two revisions) and I'm really happy. Love my band! Good luck to you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
