Team Lunch Today :-0

Recommended Posts

I'm taking my staff out to a team lunch today. Since I'm the one that had those lovely stuck episodes yesterday (had 2nd fill on Tuesday), I'm a bit nervous. I thought I might try some type of Soup for lunch. We're going to BJ's Restaurant in CO. They have a huge selection but I'm thinking a Soup might be what my body needs. Having a banana Protein shake for Breakfast.

Ay suggestions?

I think Soup is your best option. Good Luck!

Hello. I'm sorry to hear of your problems. Please note I am not trying to be mean spirited. What does your doctor tell you to eat post fill? Were you eating solids? Mine calls for 24 hours of liquids and then 24 hours of mushies. Since you had a bad stuck episode yesterday I would stay on liquids today and maybe tomorrow. I would def. not do solids either day.

I often get stuck while I'm out :-/ . I would definitely stick with a Soup, just so you don't have to do the awkward rushing off to the bathroom with people around who you may not want to know you've had a surgery!

I'm happy to report that I had a lovely Tomato bisque Soup, and it was deeelicious. I feel full too, so I'm OK :-)

To those that asked: my surgeons office had told me to have liquids that night & that I could go back to normal food the following day. Needless to say, I won't do that again. YIPES!

Noe for dinner tonight... maybe some yummy soft flounder...

Thanks everyone!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
