Green Zone?

Recommended Posts

I see that picture in my doctors office and its a helpful barometer. It just seems that everyone's green zone experience is a little different!

What does the green zone feel like for you?

(some say they never get hungry, others say they're full after a few bites etc...)

I'm post op with no fill so i'm curious to hear everyone's different experiences

Well for me, I find that I'm no longer hungry and lose interest in eating before I finish my one cup serving. It also means I can go over 4 hours (usually closer 5 or 6) without being hungry again. Because I'm not hungry I'm not preoccupied with food and my next meal anymore either.

Thanks for the insight!

I am pretty sure I've finally hit the green zone - as the above poster, I can go hours and hours without thinking about food or feeling hungry. It's NEVER been like that in my life for me. I have had 4 or 5 fills (I forgot to write down so not certain) and have 4.5 ccs in my band. However, my one question about it is that I haven't lost all that much. I hit a plateau and stayed there more than a month. Since this last fill and feeling GREAT finally, I did finally lose some weight but my overall is way less than I'd thought/hoped at this far out. I will give it a few more weeks before saying for sure one way or the other but I feel good so I think this is it. I'm afraid any more of a fill I'd have trouble keeping anything down. I'm good with a cup or less of food.

Green zone is different for many people. If, you can be satisfied with your 3-4 oz of Protein, do not get PBs, and are not hungry between meals for 3-4 hours, then you probably have gotten to green. Best wishes,Karen

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
