Gallbladder ????

Recommended Posts

I am having terrible pains on my upper right abdominal area just below my ribs. A friend of mine said it was possibly my gallbladder. Has anyone had gallbladder issues after having lapband? I was banded May 14, 2012 .

Yes, I had to have my gallbladder removed a few weeks ago when I was about 6 months post op from my band surgery. Mine was considered to be an "atypical presentation", as none of the testing revealed any gallstones (ultrasound and MRI), and my pain was initially on my left side. Then I ended up being hospitalized for pancreatitis.

Further testing (HIDA scan) showed that my gallbladder had stopped working entirely, which precipitated the inflamed pancreas. I was experiencing waves of nausea, and then the pain switched to my right side.

Since the pancreatitis attacks generally get worse over time, I was advised to have my gallbladder removed. Now there is no more pain, and no more nausea.

My significant weight loss apparently exacerbated my gall bladder condition...and no one knows why or when it stopped working.

Not sure what it is...but I went to the ER myself 3 months ago and turns out I had gallstones. Rather then remove an organ the good Lord gave me, I had a sonogram that showed my stones. I had 2 options: get it removed or try a natural remedy. I opted for the natural remedy and WAS COMPLETELY FLOORED WITH THE RESULTS !!!

You start off with Apple juice during the day (eating nothing) and then drink 8 oz of pure lemon juice and 8 oz of pure olive oil 4 hours before going to bed. 1oz every 15 minutes before going to bed.

In short, the next morning, you will despense many little green gallstones. If I didn't trust my 2 health nut friends...I wouldn't believe it myself. Just Google Gallbladder Cleanse with lemon juice and olive oil...you will find plenty of information.

That all said...do your research, go to the doctor on the safe side for diagnosis first.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
