Choices on Vacation?

Recommended Posts

Hey Penni,

I was just talking to my husband and threw in a casual, "Hey, you wanna go to Jamaica in August?". He said, "Heck ya! Let's go."

That was easy. I've never been, but it sounds like fun to me. Shall I start researching package deals? :)

Our family's worst vacation was in Jamaica. I guess that it depends where you are. We had a house overlooking a golf course in Ochos Rios. My husband is an international businessman and a Marine-he is pretty much comfortable anyplace. My daughter was assaulted at the falls. We were shook down for money at the same place. While we were driving back to our house, rocks were thrown at our car.

My good friend is Jamaican. They are good hardworking people.

And then we drove down to Negril-completely different. But be very careful in the tourist spots and away from the tourist spots.

i have been to negril for the past 3 years. and can't get enough! i love that place. it's true though, that you have to keep your eyes peeled. i live in new york, so i guess i'm used to it. but the people are wonderful, the food is wonderful and the beaches are beautiful. if anyone goes to negril, you gotta check out 3Dives Restaurant. it's on the side of the road between the rock house and xtabi.

but definitely let a girl know about any LBT Jamaica excursions!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
