Recommended Posts

No, hardly been able to eat anything due to the pain. Got a defill booked for Sunday so will see if that helps to start with and if not then go to my gp on Monday for further tests or questions etc.

thats rough. i hope that its not something major. I didnt think that gall bladder pain came through on the L.H. side?? i dont know all that much about it really.

I started having stomach pain around July 26 or 27...It finally started to subside 4 or 5 days later...than started back on the 3rd...I went to work on the 5th and had to call my boss that I couldn't make it...I went straight to the ER at 5am...

After the blood tests it was determined that I had pancreatitis...my pancreas emzymes were off the chart...the ER staff couldn' believe I drove to the ER...

A cat scan was done but it didn't show any gallstones so they weren't sure what was causing the pancreatitis...

I was admitted to the hospital and an Ultrasound was done and that discovered the gallstones...On the afternoon of the 6th I had 5 gallstones removed that were blocking the duct from my pancreas...

On Wed my gallbladder was removed...The Dr. said my gallbladder had between 40 and 50 gallstones in it...

I don't know if my results would have been any different if I had gone in sooner but I wouldn't have had to go through almost 2 weeks of pain...

Talking with the medical staff at the hospital it appears that once someone starts having gallstones they will keep getting them until the gallbladder is removed...

thats scary stuff. i had xrays done years ago and they found two calcified stones under the gall bladder. we dont know if they were calcified glands or not. i never followed up on that one. i get general pain in both left and right side of my abdo.. .but ive always put it down to some colitis. I have more win in my gut since the band surgery. Has anyone else got more '' wind'' pain since surgery??

I cant imagine how much pain you must have been in. How on earth you drove yourself?? At least you are through all that now and im sure that having the gall bladder removed will make all the difference to you. Tell me, has your weight loss been quick?? have you lost a lot of weight ??

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
