When Does Gas Pain Subside?

I was banded July 11th and have been doing fairly well. The worst part has been the gas pain. I have been walking like crazy and it surely helps. My question is how long will it take (in general) for the gas pain to go away?

I was banded 7/5 and my gas pains finally subsided 7/12, so 7 days later? For some reason for me day 5 was the worst and I actually kinda panicked. I thought I was doing so much better than WHAM out of the blue I got the L shoulder pain and under L ribcage pain. I also noticed when I laid on my back in bed it was much worse than laying on my side.

It will get better soon.

Yea me too. I was banded July 2... And it took at least a week. And I still occasionally get the shoulder pain if I drink my thick shake too fast. Just have to walk it off.

Took me about a week but I still 5 years post op get it occasionally. Walking and gas x are your friend!

Thanks everyone for your help. :)

A few weeks for me on and off.

Things get better with each day. You are still going through the tough days...but soon it will be over and you will feel great. As the weight comes off I feel better and better. I can walk without my feet hurting!

I was banded on 6/27....the bad gas pain subsided about a week or so after.....for the most part now it's gone but still get occaisional pain in the left shoulder. Seems to come about when I lay down in bed. But the gas pain was the worst for me too.

I just got banded yesterday morning and I can't even sleep bc of the gas. Is Gas X all there is?

Daneesy and walking....walking.....walking! It really helps. Your discomfort is temporary. Each day will be better.
