    idiot- and stuck?

I've done the same thing, eating too quickly, but my symptoms have never lasted more than a 10-15 minutes. I agree with the stick to liquids for the next day or so suggestion. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.
  4. I also lose my soft stop when I need a fill.

    SO MANY QUESTIONS

I took a week off after surgery. The first couple days are the worst because of gas pain. A little tip...the more you move, the better you feel. It will be tough but if you want it, you can do it! Good luck, I hope you make the decision that's right for you.

    11 days post op

YES! I lost quickly right after surgery and then I settled out to 1-2 lbs per week. The same thing happens to me after a fill. I'll lose a lot in the first week then slow down after that. That's great! Enjoy.

    Emily's Zucchini Tots - Awesome!

    Thanks for the tip!
  8. I was also banded in July 2012 and I have variability with "tightness." My doctor said to give in a few days...stick to liquids and then slowly progress to solid foods. For me it usually only lasts 2-3 days and things go back to "normal." If you are concerned, call your doctor and ask.

    I want to cry :(

Hang in there...you are doing great! If posting this helped, then keep it up...maybe start a blog to use an outlet for your frustrations.

    Period Question

I also have spotting in between my periods. It's probably normal. As you lose weight, the fat cells you are "loosing" release estrogen when they break down. This can cause irregular bleeding. If you are still worried or it becomes unbearable you can always talk to your OB/GYN.

    Port Pain?:??

I am just noticing the same type of pain. I am 6 weeks post op and go for my first fill in less than a week. Just wondering if you ever figured out what was going on and is the pain any better?
  12. I can totally relate. I was only on liquids for a week and thank goodness because it was all I could take.

    24 Hours Postop

I also felt bloated for a few days post-op. Keep moving and take your pain meds if you need them. Congrats and good luck!
  15. There is a saying in the fertility business..."lose weight and ovulate." Any weight loss promotes ovulation so in theory having a lapband should increase the chances of pregnancy for a patient with PCOS. Good luck.

    One Year And Going Strong

I am one WEEK post-op and am very inspired by your story. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
  18. Lindabug - I go back to work tomorrow, one week after my surgery, and I feel more than ready. Assuming you don't have a hightly physical job, I think you'll be okay with your scheduled time off. Good luck!
  19. Wow that's great! Congratulations!
  20. Is that hunger I'm feeling?

  21. Yay! Oh it must have been wonderful, lol! Congratulations, glad to hear you're doing great.
  22. I was banded July 11th and have been doing fairly well. The worst part has been the gas pain. I have been walking like crazy and it surely helps. My question is how long will it take (in general) for the gas pain to go away?
  23. Thanks everyone for your help.

    2 Days Out

Surgery is over...and without complication. I wasn't scheduled until 2pm and it was nearly 6pm by the time I settled in my room. And by settled I mean, writhed in pain, close to tears, trying to sleep so my discomfort didn't drive me crazy. It was 10pm when I insisted that I try to get up and go to the bathroom. I figured laying there wasn't "getting it done" so might as well try something different. I had read on various forums how important walking was to ease the gas pains. Finally by 2am I had a handle on the pain. I give credit to the morphine and the walking. I diligentley walked every 1-2 hours (and asked for pain meds atleast every 4) and by morning felt like a new person. A sore person, but new nonetheless. I had my UGI, passed it, and then got to drink a protein shake. I was scared to death. I didn't want to take to big of swallows or drink too much too fast. Also it hurt, I had awful gas pain when I drank. I finished most of it...enough for the nurse to consider me "good to go." So last night I got to sleep in my bed. :sigh: And sleep I did. And when I woke up at 5:30am, I felt awful. I was behind on my pain meds and I hadn't walked all night. After 2 hydrocodones and a few laps around my yard (yeah, I'm now the crazy lady that wanders around her yard really early in the morning), I felt good again. I've walked all day, kept up on my meds and followed the liquid diet exactly and overall I feel pretty good. I still seem to have a fair amount of gas. I'm ready for a night of sleep and see how tomorrow goes.
