Over Filled??

Recommended Posts

I was banded 3-20-12 and just had my 3rd fill yesterday. After my 2nd fill I could get stuck if I didn't chew good enough or ate to fast but that was only with the first few bites after that I could eat whatever and how ever much. Yesterday my dr gave me what he called an aggressive fill. Since then I have only been able to sip liquids once about every 5 mins and the "slime" and gurgling is extreme. Im worried about dehydration at this point but would hate to get some out and be back where I was before. I guess my question is do u think it will get better since its only the day after??

Really watch that...I had a fill too tight and went alittle over 24 hours before I had it defilled. Also your stomache could be swollen from the fill...If it doesn't get better at least by tomorrow I would call your doc. I lost 6 pounds in a 24 hour period because I couldn't handle much and just drinking Water was causing me to gurgle etc. hope this helps

Call your Doctor and tell him you need some of the Fluid removed. I have dealt with this same problem and 2 weeks later I ended in the ER bc of extreme dehydration. My doctor finally removed 2 cc of the 4 I had and I'm on a liquid diet for a week. He said my stomach was swallow bc of the vomiting. Don't wait I'm not trying to scare you but I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Plus most of June ive spent in the house sick. Good luck!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
