2 weeks ago today I had surgery. I've only lost 16lbs and 12lbs of that was pre-op. My band is empty, 1st fill is June 14th. I'm on soft foods now. I try to eat 4ozs every 3 hours. And I will say I get HUNGRY, but I don't eat to full feel I eat as if I have restrictions. I try to have 60 grams of Protein with them nasty shakes. I was a little upset because I only lost 4lbs in 2 weeks but my doc said that was good for someone with no restrictions. I wish I could get my pre-surgery energy back.

It seems like were at about the same stage this is my third week post op and at a week after I had lost 17 pounds and since I have lost about three more but I am starting to feel hungry but I still eat somethings that just don't sit right with me. I haven't seen a difference in my energy and that's somthing I don't really understand because I haven't been drinking all the Protein that I should. I also get my first fill on the 14 and I can't wait :)

Wishing you the best of luck !!!

Most doctors say you will loose up to 2 pounds a week with the band. I am very conservative with my food choices and exercise 7 days a week for more than an hour; and loose less than 1 pound a week.

Went to my pre surgery appointment - getting banded August 1st. ( having gallbladder surgery Thursday). To the point- my doctor recommends sublingual b-12 or b-12 shots to regain energy. Can not hurt to try.

Tricia39, you are right on target. 2 lbs a week is great.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
