Flower, once you've had a PB or something stuck, YOU ARE DONE EATING FOR THAT MEAL. It's also a very good idea to stick to liquids for the next meal or two. PBing or vomiting irritates the stoma and esophagus, and it's very important to let it rest and recover before trying to eat any more solid food. There are many people here who can attest that NOT doing so can lead to even more PBing, increased irritation, and worse. Many times people who have pain and excess restriction to the point of needing medical attention can trace their problems to behavior like this.

Really, you don't want to damage yourself or your band. If you have a PB or vomit, stop eating and stick to liquids for 24 hours.

Alex hit the nail on the head. I could not of said it better myself and Iam one of those ones who can attest to NOT doing so like Alex mentioned above. I got a terrible case of esophagitis becuase of not doing liquids for 24 hrs after a PB.

Thumbs up to Alex's post. You will have MORE pain if you try to eat after vomiting. If I still feel pretty hungry, I will drink a Protein Shake & it usually does the trick. I also keep some yummy Soups on hand for these reasons too!!

Isn't it weird how everything goes down better after vomiting? I try not to eat much after I vomit. Sometimes I have no interest in food afterwards, and other times I just kinda pick at it.

Thanks so much for this info - i wasn't doing this (doing liquids for 24 hours) and will immediately change my behavior. I usually skip the meal of the pb but was eating later meals during the day. I hope I haven't already done some damage to myself/my band.:faint:

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
