I’m feeling under the weather right now, I was so excited last week because I thought that the bank was going to approve my credit, I’m going to pay the surgery all by myself, but yesterday call me and told me they only approved part of it, I do not what else to do to get the money, I really want the band and we do not have insurance here in Mexico, so I guess I’m gonna have to wait until next year... :(

If they approved x amount, you could try and find a Dr who will take the partial amount and set you up on a payment plan.

Also, have you looked into Carecredit? It's a healthcare credit card and they usually have some decent promos for financing.< /p>

Thanks to all for your responses, I live in Mexico and I'm not sure we have that option, and there's only one good Dr. that does this procedure in my city and he does not finance any part of the procedure, going outside my city to find a new doctor only will increase my expenses, I know he is great I've seen his work and know a couple of success stories from their patients, I think I just have to be patient and look for an extra income :) I'm trying to stay positive!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
