Dr. Adam Goldstein..is He Worth Switching For?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I currently have a great doctor way up in N NJ however the doctor has become very slack with me and his office staff really has issues with follow through. I have become a bit disenchanted with all of them. I have moved just down the road from Voorhees and when I did a search on this lap band topic Dr. Adam Goldstein's name came up with a very high rating.

I move here from Missouri a bit over a year ago and had a pioneer in the lap band process and was extremely happy with him but then moved. Although my current doctor is amazing his lack of response to my concerns really is bothering me. My medical insurance runs out at the end of the month and I have according to the insurance met all pre-exsisting conditions of my medical policy and really need to have some thing looked at before the end of this month by someone who is GOOD at what he does.

Input needed soon as possible I need to make a call Monday for this doctor depending on what feedback I get.

Thanks so much for your help

Michele

This problem seems to a common problem with most bariatric surgeon offices. I had signed on with Dr Snyder in Denver and had clearance for surgery but couldn't get anyone to call me back. I went to a different Dr and had the surgery. But even the new Dr.'s office had bad communication skills. It seems to be quite common from what I've seen. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule but it's a low %.

I know I am way way late on this...but Dr. Goldstein is the s@$t! He really is a great guy. He knows what he is doing. His office has tons of resources. I just started using his in office nutritionist...she is awesome too. Goldstein is great at what he does, has a great sense of humor, and I trust him completely. Make the switch!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
