Hi my name is Brooke' date=' I am new to site and group. My surgery date is May 18, and I am pretty nervous but excited too! I have been trying to get on site for a while now but I have only been able to read.

 

I started my 14 day pre surgery diet and liver detox. I went on May 3rd to weigh in and I was 308.6. I have been on a liquid diet and today I weighed myself and I was 299. I start the liver detox part of it tomorrow. Wish me luck. I am supposed to be drinking some protein shakes but I have only managed to get one and a half down. I dont like them they are very bad tasting I had to hold my nose to get others down. I hope I am getting enough nutrients.[/quote']

 

Welcome Brooke! I'm may 18 too... As far as the shakes try premier protein from costco or SAMs . They have 30g of protein and 1 g of sugar. Hard to believe they taste so good.

They are very strict but the ones I have are from arbonne, vanilla flavored. I hate vanilla these are too sweet or something. I tried mixing them with one of the cups of yogurt light Im allowed to have but its still pretty bad.

Well hang in there! I bought some unflavored unjury to put in my broth. That has helped to get the protein in and I'm loving my sugar free Popsicles ! Can you eat the fage Greek yogurt and add sugar free strawberry preserve. My nutritionist told me to have that during this phase. Taste good to me, gives me the feeling like I'm eating- I need to chew!

My surgery date was changed to May 29 (instead of May 30)....the sooner, the better as far as I'm concerned!

Hello !

My surgery was May 14th. Banded plication, hernia repair, and gall bladder removal. It was a breeze. So much easier than I expected it to be.

Today is Day 4 on my doc's plan. I can have full liquids. I'm still just doing vitamin waters and sugar free popsicles. I did put cream in my coffee this morning. I am not really hungry and my doctor says you really don't need to eat for a week..it will jump start your weight loss and speed healing of the plication.
