I'm here, just quiet lately. Getting depressed about no weight loss while following all the rules, exercising way more than I have, and still struggling with getting all my calories. Inches lost are great, but it would be hard to have a 28" waist and still weigh 258 lbs. Grr. I know.

Had my 1 month post op PCP appointment. Last week had my 3 week follow up LB surgeon appointment. Good news is I'm down 25lbs since sx on 4/2/12. BP was normal for the first time in A WHILE. Blood sugars are consistently below 140 (goal intially was below 150). Just a small tweak of meds and more lab work in 2 months. Feeling pretty good these days! You all are great encouragement and support, even when just lurking!

summrsue I'm not losing either so don't feel too bad. I've heard this time is referred to being in "lapband hell" but to go up and down each day with the same lb gets really frustrating. I'm sure it will start dropping when we get filled. May 21st for me! I can't wait!!!

I am happy for others like runnyf. It's awesome to hear your doing so well.

Smmrsue - i am also a little frustrated with my slow loss. I was banded 4/10 and the scale has barely moved since 4/19. I had my follow up with my surgeon yesterday and he said that I needed a fill- but I can barely get 800 calories in these days. I am wondering if I get my calorie intake up higher if that will help, but when I get a fill won't it be harder? So puzzled. But my dr was encouraging, so I am trying to stay strong...

weight at start of pre surgery diet - 304/current weight 280/surgery 4/10, Follow up 5/1

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
