1200 might be a little high. I have between 800-900. I have my fitness pal set at 1100 but usually never get that many. I have lost 40 lbs (including pre-op) since being banded 3-1-12.

I started out at 200-250 with 1/4 cup of food 3x daily. My surgery was 4/3/2012. I just increase it by adding two Protein supplements a day and now have between 400-500...I can't see how I can get in any more. Right now I can only have 1/4 cup (2oz) meals three times a day and two protein supplements... I'm not hungry...but i know I need to get in more calories. I have been fluctuating all week with the same pound. One morning I a 176 and the next 177 and back and forth. So frustrating. I just upped my protein by having a 50mg shake for Breakfast. I had it at 7am and I am just hungry at 1:30 and ready for lunch...so strange to be eating so little and not having an issue with it.

I set my fitnesspal to 1000 cals a day. Rarely get to the limit. With or without exercise. Not really restricted too much yet so some days it is a struggle.

My dietician told me between 700 and 900 calories per day for me.. I've been staying pretty much around 600 calories.. Now with that said, I don't count the calories from things like crystal light, olive oil, etc. So I add an extra 100 calories for those; so I'm right around 700 per day and that's with 2 Protein Shakes per day..

o.k... that would include your Protein Drinks as well...?? i havent got a clue how much im getting a day in the way of protein. i must try and work it out.

3 days out from surgery it would be hard to take in 700... you are doing well. im assuming that you are on just Clear Liquids right now??

Banded 4-2-12. I take in less than 950 calories a day with 30 minutes of walking a day. I eat 3 meals a day with lots of Water and a couple Protein Shakes a day. My nutritionist tells me it's not just about the calories, but about how your body feels. If you're getting the right amounts of nutrition and not feeling hungry, then you're fine. If you're body is functioning and not hungry (again, after taking in the nutrients that it needs.), why would it think it's starving? Your body isn't counting calories.

My nutritionist does not think anyone should be below 1200 a day because the body does react to so few calories. HoWEVeR - you all are so soon past surgery you are still healing. At that point I was probably taking in about 600 -700 calories. I am now 4 months out and take in between 1200 and 1400 a day but I also exercise daily and burn a minimum of 500 at the gym. I was told not to take in less than 1200 no matter what. I have lost 50 lbs since surgery.

well.. im trying to stick to a half a cup... some veges and some meat. its hard to get anymore than about 800 calories up, even with the Protein drink and Snacks. im hungry inbetween meals as well. its hard at the moment. im about two weeks off my first fill. im looking forward to not having the feeling of hunger.

Has anyone got any ideas for a half cup of food? im trying to get as much Protein in...ie, fish, as i can, with a small amount of veges.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
