Anyone Have Trouble Eating Breakfast?

I am not able to eat breakfast anymore unless its something soft like yogurt. Anyone else have this problem? I also cannot tolerate ANY bread, ANY rice except for sushi rice and pretty much no pasta....

  • I have my protien shake in the mornings because I can not tolerate breakfast at all. I also have not had bread, pasta, and rice pretty much for 2 years now. Occasionally I will try to eat some sushi

I can't do breakfast either. I'm just now eating a bit of toast and cheese and it's 11:40 am. I can do bread as long as it's toasted. But not a whole sandwich. I can do an english muffin though.

  • Never feel like eating in the morning, just don't have an appetite. I if do have a little bit of an appetite can only eat very little in the morning.

I generally stick with coffee with cream and splenda in the mornings. Solids, I have to wait a couple of hours. Mandagay- if you drink then lie down right away, the water is probably still in your pouch. I have that issue too. If I take a couple of small sips I'm okay but I definitely can't chug it.

Thx shauna I try not to chug but prob don't take small enough sips

OMG I haven't had breakfast in 3 yrs, I have a protein shake and can't tolerate meat, choice, pasta and rice except for sushi rice my doc says different have different tolerances but I'm still down 95 so it is what it is

At my goal weight - Banded just over 2 years now & STILL can't tolerate breakfast.

Protein shakes have become my breakfast and I really like them now.

No longer having Type 2 Diabetes and being a size 6 is soooooo worth it though.

I can't eat breakfast. I can drink liquid though, so I usually have a cup of tea if I'm at home, or a cup of coffee if I'm out.

I got my first fill on Thursday ... I havent had a breakfast since then. I get full from water. I can barely get down half a protein shake.

Im never that hungry in the mornings, but i eat regardless, usually a high fibre Cereal with a little fruit, i really have to keep up a high fibre intake and breakfast is the best meal for that.

I cant just eat it though, have to carry my bowl round while i get ready for work, dry my hair, make kids school lunches etc

Try drinking close to two bottles of Water. I have the same problem so I drink 1st. I guess it opens my band a little more. But afterwards I can eat 1 egg and 2 small sausage links.

Havent been able to eat breakfast for months now. I have a protein shake n black coffee every single morning., I am used to it. I like the shakes and of course the nearly 120 pound weight loss in 9 months., 5 days a week at work I have a 60 calorie yogurt around 11 then 2 light string cheeses around 2:00 for total 100 calories.. Thrn aroun 4:00 another 60 calotie yogurt. Dinner varies. I try to eat all kinds of things but usually have to stop after 4 or 5 bites. I then eat a snack like one cheese slice an hour before bed.

I can't eat breakfast unless it is a protein shake. My doctor told me the stomach muscles are tight in the morning so this is common.

Not being able to eat early in the day is VERY common. In fact sitting and eating any meal for me is really a rare thing... I'm a grazer now... I eat a bite or two and then walk around doing other things and then return for a few more bites. It's more comfortable for me to eat standing and I frequently stretch too... There's no way I could just eat three meals a day in the 20 minutes or so I used too.

That being said... It is VERY counterproductive to outright skip consuming any nutrition in the first hour after rising. coffee and Water, of course, have no nutritional value. And waiting until lunch or afternoon to eat will cause long term problems, both in fat loss and everyday performance. This will kill your metabolism and fat loss efforts. Simply put, your body - like your car - runs on fuel - and it won't run well on crappy fuel or no fuel. Get some carbs and Protein even if it requires a Protein shake for breakfast everyday.

Im so happy to see this thread and to know Im not alone. I too have coffee in the mrnings, Im going to add a protein shake to the mix now.... That way I not skippin meals!

I was wondering the same thing. I have coffee every mornong i get up 4am to go to the hospital for work. But i know i need to jump start my metabolism too how much of a protein shake would get things started? 4oz or more?

My response would be it depends on your daily protein needs/goals... I would look at it more in terms of carb and protein grams rather than volume... For instance, I start my day with a protein shake consisting of roughly 30 grams of protein. And I sip on it until its gone, which may be upwards of an hour and a half...

There are, however, differing approaches. Jachut, for example, is not as pro-protein as I, and has acheived amazing results. You may be fine with a food choice that is far less protein dense. At any rate, I would be certain to get some form of balanced nutrition to start your day - don't just settle for non-nutritive beverages.
