  1. I was banded 8/8/11 and am down 63lbs. I have had several fills and am now at my sweet spot. I am loving my band and feeling great!!! I do not eat breakfast since the stomach muscles are so tight in the morning so I have a protein shake. I do not eat most carbs, bread, rice, cereals, pasta. I work out three days a week at the Y in the pool which is great since I broke my ankle. I am hoping to keep losing at a steady pace and keep looking and feeling better. I am 20lbs away from being under 200 and I can not wait!!

    I Need Some Motivation

My husband was against it at first but once he went to the pre op classes with me he felt better. I would say it took about two to three months post op for him to see what a difference it is making in my life and health. I think a lot of men think we will leave them once we lose the weight.
  3. Mine was fixed with my band placement. Bye bye reflux and pain from my bra pushing on that area.

    No Progress...

My doctor likes me to eat 1000 calories a day.

    Bandster Blues

Hang in there!! I am 8 months post op and down 63lbs. The first three to four months was frustrating but I am now doing great and the band has been an amazing tool for me! It will get better, be open and honest with your doctor and they will help you get through.

    Husbands

I have been married for 5 1/2 years and when I met my husband I was 215lbs. Before my surgery in august 2011 I was 283. I am currently 219 so almost back to where I was. He has never said anything about my weight but I feel like he is more attracked to me the more I lose. I think some guys are just jerks, some don't know what to say, and some say the wrong things. Just start by liking yourself and how you look and feel. The hurt may never fully go away but once you start losing it might not be as painful. I have learned that this process and journey is for me and my health. Some people come along for the ride and others don't. Just make sure you have a support person to talk to.

    Need Reassurance

I did the same thing. I was banded in August of 2011 and just in the past three months have I really started to lose at a faster pace. I lost17lbs my first week after and then nothing for like three weeks. After a couple fills you will be fine and start seeing results. I am about 36 weeks out and have lost 64lbs.
  8. I can't eat breakfast unless it is a protein shake. My doctor told me the stomach muscles are tight in the morning so this is common.
  9. I had my first fill this week and got 6cc. I am now trying to figure out if I feel different. I ate too fast at lunch and got some pain that went away after I relaxed for a minute and then just ate slower. I think I am getting fuller faster but honestly I am not sure. That might sound stupid but it is what I am feeling. I think I am nervous about not saying the right thing to my doctor when it comes to my next appointment. I know I am not too tight which is good but I am wondering if I will need more. Do most people gage this on their weight loss to see if the need another fill? I am down 18lbs and was 1 month post op yesterday so I am excited to see what I can lose now that I have some restriction!!!
  10. Hello everyone, I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow. I have just started back on my BC and am hoping things go smoothly getting all those hormones changing again. lol. So - thursday is my first fill and I'm hoping to be able to see a change in how soon I get hungry. Right now I don't feel much different from before my band since there is no restriction in it yet. I am making healthier choices but I'm hungry often. I was told from my nurse that some people do not notice a difference on their first fill - I am hoping that is not the case. Anyone have any thoughts on this for me? I am excited to start getting fills and get this ball rolling. My husband and I bought new bikes this week and also joined our local Y - I am loving the exercise, just want to start seeing the weight loss (only down 16lbs).

    Sex after WLS

I was told to weight 4 weeks, that is also when I can start my birth control again. I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm thinking another two weeks, isn't going to happen. hahaha! I know they don't want you to get pregnant and I understand anything is possible there, but I have fertility issues so I'm sure I wouldn't even if we did. Can't wait to read the other posts on this one! My f/u appointment is tomorrow so I might ask the nurse if it's ok or not.
  12. I was wondering because I can't remember discussing this with my doctor, if we will ever be able to swallow a pill again. I am off of one medication, which is awesome, but I still have three more and one of them I doubt I will get away with because of weight loss. Also - I am going to be 2 weeks post op this coming Monday and was wondering when most people start getting fills. I am so hungry on this liquid diet and am looking forward to some more support with my fill.
  13. I was banded on August 8th. I lost 11 lbs the first week, but since monday the scale has not moved. I am getting nervous that it won't. Is it typical to not lose one week? I am still on liquids so I thought I would continue to lose. I have my low calorie protein shakes, skim milk, and water all day. I think my band may need tightened, i can drink 16oz no problem and I was told 8 should be my max at a time. I can't seem to stay off the scale I've waited so long for this and I want to see results. Any advice??
  14. I got out my pregnancy pillow to wrap around my stomach for support. I could not tell if I was full either my first couple days home, just relax and sip through out the day so you do not get dehydrated. It will get better in a couple days. It took until 3 days post op for me to start to feel better.
  15. I'm only 4 days post op and I'm already frustrated. I am actually hungry today, and it's annoying. I'm still on liquids and it's hard, I don't like much besides milk, jello, and I can handle muscle milk for a protein shake. Anyone else going through this. I want something to eat because I'm hungry, but I can't really eat and I'm getting tired of milk and jello. HELP!!!

    Angry, Frustrated, Hungry

No I have a list. I like popsicles and tea but that gets old. Chicken broth makes me sick, I feel like I am eating slimly grease.
  17. I was banded today 8/8/11. I am so sore and my shoulders are killing me from the gas the used to inflate me. I was outpatient so I'm glad to be home, just can't wait to start losing. Any thoughts for the new girl? I am hoping to start feeling better tomorrow, at least a little.
