Dr. Gonzales

Recommended Posts

Just as an FYI - for anyone who uses him... Dr. Gonzales is not doing in office fills any more. Everyone has to be scheduled under flouroscopy at the hospital.

I got my fill r/s! I was looking forward to it. Goodness knows I need it.

No kidding! Really?! Did he/his office say "Why"? Ah, geez, there goes the price. That more than doubles it! Crapola. Bad news for me. Do you know the price of flouro fills?

Hey, what's r/s?

Dr Gonzales in Winston Salem. Phone number is (336) 784-8299.

Hospital fee is $408, I think, and Dr G charges $325. That's $733 for a flouro fill. Wow! If your port is easy to hit, he may be able to do a non-flouro office fill after your first one. Dr G has no problem seeing someone banded from MX (if that's where you were banded) so it's nice to have a local doc. Be prepared to pay, but it might be less expensive than the flight back to MX. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Wow, a "long time" bandster! Good job! How's your weight loss been? Any advice for success? Having any trouble? Except for needing a fill, that is. Give us the sccop! Most bandsters from 2001 are out and about and we don't hear much from that "class". I'd love to hear how you have done...I'm going to go look you up! But if nothing's there...well, fill us in!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
