Any banders go to a chiropracter?

Recommended Posts

I need to go to a chiropractor again but I am really nervous about him pushing, popping and twisting me around for fear of band slippage, port pain (it is just below my sternum), or the tube getting disconnected. Anyone have sound advice about this?

I go to the Chiropactor regularly, no issues but to be safe let them know about the band.

Absolutely go! I never would have made it through the post surgery gas pains without good old Dr. Steve! If you are still healing from surgery don't have your lower back or hips adjusted. Just have him do your neck and mid-back. After you are fully healed lower back adjustments will be fine.

Thanks, I will make sure to let him know first, I just really need an adjustment! Even more now that I have lost a few pounds and my body is changing.

I go every now and again, because I have TMJ and upper back issues. Just make sure they know about your band and if they are uncomfortable you need to find someone that knows about the band. I could not live without my chiropractor now or ever and he is my savior, especially with my TMJ issues. I actually went through 5 people before I could find someone like Dr. Finch that knew his profession. It was hard when moving out here to Arizona to find a qualified chiropractor. He also has been very encouraging and supportive in my decision since he saw me at my highest weight and now at 90 pounds lost. Good luck and stay healthy.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
