Over 2 yrs and fills

Recommended Posts

I've had my band done in December 2008 and have still struggled with losing. I have lost, but gained, then lost, then gained and after each fill, I've started to lose, then a few days later, it goes back up again. Not understanding what is going on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not wanting to jump to conclusions but you dont give a lot of info.

What do you eat? 3 small meals a day no Snacks? or Five even smaller meals? Do you do a good hour's exercise most days? Do you avoid sugar, white flour and bad fats, keep away from alcohol for the most part? Are you sabotaging yourself with hidden calories - sweet, syrupy coffees, soft slider foods?

I eat 3 small meals a day, but I do have 2 Snacks in between because I get hungry in between, but the snacks are yogurt or fruit. I do the excersize each day, but I only do 30 -45 minutes. I'm trying to get to an hour. Almost there. On weekends when I'm not working is the hardest. I'm home and my family sometimes goes out and wants me to join them and when I do, I have trouble saying no to a slider, mostly drinks, like wine or pina colada.

I probably should not go out. That may be my problem. I avoid white flour and all processed foods. I use Stevia for a sweetener instead of sugar. I don't eat much veges, mostly all the berries, blueberries, strawberries, black berries, raspberries and of course watermelon. I love fruit. The veges make me too gassy. Do you see anything else I could change?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
