Recommended Posts

I am four weeks out now on solid foods and for the last 3 days my upper left portion of my stomach hurts ... not if I'm just sitting but if I take steps or lay on my left side. No other symptoms. ??? Anyone help??

I'm going through the same thing and I am 3 months post op! I have been in the ER 3 times for it now and they can't figure it out. They don't want to admit that it is the band causing so much pain. I wish I could help! I'll keep you posted if I find out any more answers... The only thing I can say is that most people stop feeling pain after a little while. My situation may just be rare.

Did u just start having pain? Or has it been since surgery?? What did your surgeon say??? I can tell mine is exactly where the band is...Idk if I ate something that irritated it. But how do they check it??? Have u had a fill yet? I have not. Suppose to on July 27th thanks

I have pain, but I think mine is from my port. It is on my left side and I'm also about 4 weeks post op. I can't tell where my band is at.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
