I was banded 6 days ago, and everything is much better these last past 2 days. My nurse told me to do the clear liquid thing for about 2 days after post op, and then I could go to full liquids or blended for 2 weeks. However, I cheated, and I know this is wrong. I really didn't cheat with bad food, but I did try eating something solid and chewing it VERY VERY thourougly! However, I did notice I got full after only 4 ounces like I should.....so I stopped. I felt really guilty afterwards, and also miserable because I felt too full. I wonder did I put myself in danger, or am I ok if I go back to my liquids.

Try to not cheat and follow what your DR has asked. The band is brand new and not firmly in place yet. Taking it easy the first few weeks is to give the band a chance to become firmly in place so it doesn't slip.

Get right back on your liquids!

Go back go back go back...follow the instructions you were given. Start to think about the reasons you have gotten the band and allow yourself to imagine and daydream about what you want to look like and feel like. If food was your friend you wouldnt be posting here. You slipped up, forget about it and get back on the wagon! Remember, if you always do what youve always done you'll always get what what youve always got!

The reason we are put on liquids and mushies is so that our newly created pouches don't have to grind. When we chew something, we can chew it to mush, but there is the risk that we might swallow a bite that is bigger than we meant to swallow. The band is only anchored in place during surgery with a few little stitches. The post-op diet is designed to allow for optimum healing in the doctor's opinion.

If you were to get stuck on something before those stitches were totally healed, it could be devastating to your band.

I understand the post-op hunger. I was ready to eat my dog by day 3. He was very lucky he moved faster than I!

Bet yourself back on track, you can do it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
