Grocery Shopping, Hate it now!

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if any one else felt this way, I use to love going grocery shopping, now I hate it. I came home and felt like crying, because now I don't enjoy it, there was no fun in it.

Can you explain a little more about why it upsets you? I actually enjoy grocery shopping more post band because I know if I do buy something "bad" I can't eat the whole package anymore. I used to get really anxious, trying to talk myself into only getting healthy stuff, but obsessed with all of the junk food I would pass. Of course, I used to cave most of the time...

When I was first banded I went through some really bad food mourning... We would order carry out and I'd walk around throwing stuff around the kitchen, frustrated and mad that I couldn't eat. I just now realized that that hasn't happened to me in months. Give it some time. It takes the brain a while to get banded.

I cry when I have to go. Gosh, how I loooooaaaaaathe grocery shopping. Awful Awful Awful job. That's half the reason I got fat, because I'd just put it off and put it off and we'd have no food in the house and end up buying takeway. And stopping at the Quix down the road for junk for Breakfast. And buying lunch out becuase there was nothing at home.

I hate it! I hate lugging it in from the car, I hate having to clean the fridge out of all the liquifying veges that we didnt eat last week to make room for more. I hate duty cooking for a family too when I know they're all going to say they dont like it.

The whole thing depresses me. It's the worst aspect of being a mother I can think of. Give me dirty nappies any day.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
