Just need to vent...

Recommended Posts

I just can't get it!

I went and got my fill last week. I am now at 2.4. I had a lot of restriction the first few days but I would sit down and push it. I knew I was full but I felt the need to keep eating and eat past the band. WHY DO I DO THIS???? Why am I sabatoging myself?

I began working out with a trainer today. Then I went to lunch and ate a lot and then I went and got Taco Cabana on the way home. What the H*LL?????

I have been taking Paxil and it has been making me SO tired. I could sleep forever. I am going to try and get some Wellbutrin-which is suppose to take some of the drag off of the Paxil. I just have zero energy and am just not very motivated.

I think I was frustrated that I did't lose any weight after the first week on my fill.

I just don't get why I do this to myself. What is it???

To those that have succeeded...did you have down days? Weeks? What keeps you going?

Thank you for letting me vent. I am GRATEFUL for LBT. ANy support is welcome!!!

Down days? Try being down for almost a year! I have been Yurtle the Turtle since I started on this journey! I finally got some decent restriction at 2.5cc in a 4cc band, but not enough. I am almost 1 year out & just this past week I went in for another fill & I now have 2.9cc & yes I think I have proper restriction! The weight is beginning to come off a little faster. It remains to be seen if it will continue. Just hang in there & get a fill if you think you need one. Everyone's perfect fill level or "sweet spot" is different! The thing that has helped me the most with this struggle of the turtle & the head hunger is coming here to vent & commiserate & cheer others on! We're here for you! Don't give up! Sounds like you are trying to take the right steps forward. I mean you have a trainer! Keep up the good work!!! You've lost 23 lbs! That's awesome!!!

we all have done days. After i got my fill, i can't even count the number of times i PB'ed and vomited till my brain finally got on board.

Luckily i have a really supportive husband, so when my stomach is full but my brain is NOT getting the picture, i very calmly and seriously tell my husband to take my plate away, and he will. then he will sit me down and rub my shoulders or something to distract me until the "full" messages finally make it to my brain.

I've had entire decades I can't account for!

We're all on long-term weight-loss journeys. It sounds trite, but it's true. And I'm certain that most of us here have slipped -- not just once, but several times. For me, the trick is to remember that I am no longer ON A DIET. There is no bad food (except the stuff that makes me PB while turning in a busy intersection). As long as you're generally making good choices, you'll be OK. So take a deep breath and be kind to yourself. We've all been through down periods (with or without the band). You'll get through this.

Lins be careful of the Paxil, that was my demise to my weight gain, it slows down your metabolic rate to almost zero. I gained 65 lbswith it in a year and a half. Welbutrin will make you nauseaus so you wont want to eat which for us bandsters is a goodthing I guess.

I have had many dwon days..more so lately not having my band any more. You are normal..dont beat yourself up over it though..tomorrow is a new day :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
