What size ball? Is your skin red, swollen, or hot? Are you running a fever?

How far post op are you? I actually have the same thing and I am 5 weeks post op. The doctor said it was inflamed possibly from over working myself to soon or it could be cellulitis. Cellulitis is a spreading infection of the skin that usually begins as a small area of tenderness, swelling, and redness on the skin. As this red area begins to spread, the person may develop a fever, sometimes with chills and sweats, and swollen lymph nodes ("swollen glands") near the area of infected skin. This is actually common after a trauma or surgery. I didn't have the fever or chills however it did get very itchy. I also got charlie horses above my port quite frequently for a while so you may be experiencing the same thing. It's been a week since my visit and he put me on medication (Keflex) and the size actually has gone down over the course of this time. Hope this helps :)

I'm Post Op on Day 12 and have something similar.

It's where my port is on my stomach on left side.. Kinda hard and does cause a little bit of pain from time to time. It's harder in the morning like my band is tighter. I think I'm just not completly healed and may still be swolen. When I'm full it's also harder.

I just had my followup appointment with my surgeon last Friday and everything looks okay.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
