Anyone NOT a LB success and just living with it??

Celine, you absolutely made it clear that you aren't actively trying to lose weight, nor do you want to. It's no different than someone who loses down to 200, and decides that even though that's not their textbook ideal weight, it makes them happy. I have never, ever been able to maintain my weight (no matter what it was). Maintenance IS an accomplishment. If you hadn't been banded 3 years ago, you'd be up what? 30 lbs? I know I would, lol.

Obviously, the focus for most of us is weight loss, but I think you'll find that there are all sorts of folk on here (banded, not banded, trying to lose, trying to maintain, trying not to go insane, etc), and all are welcome. :)

i agree, we are all in different spots in our journey. THere are days when i say you know what, i'm just not going to worry about it today, i'm gonna eat what i want. Then i have myself a little pity party, and the next day i'm back on track. I think maintaining your weight is a great place to be (much better then gaining weight right?) I think you may bennifit from a slight unfill, but thats your call.

Celine, there's something about you I like. Hang out a while. Many folks have their weight loss goals on their sigs (see mine below) and banding info. You could put your banding info there...your high weight, current weight and say "hanging out here for a while" for your goal weight. Something to that effect. Then, just jump in any time you see a conversation that speaks to you, or that you could speak to. Have a question? Start a thread. Hey, start a "Bandsters Maintaining" thread. You get the pic.

I think you ARE a LB success, even if you aren't at your goal weight. Heck, you aren't eroded. I'd like to be you in that regard a few years from now. LOL Plenty of folks take some time to maintain their loss, quit trying so hard, quit beating themselves up about it, etc etc. I'd put myself in that category on occasion. Nope, you aren't alone here. I'd say you fit right in.

And I do think you are too tight. Take your doc's advice and lose a few 10ths cc's. Eating protiens first without discomfort should keep you on track with maintaining. And you may lose the nausea? I can't imagine what's causing that, but I'd sure hate to live like that when a very small unfill might cure it. Worth a try?

Anyhow, welcome, and make yourself at home. :)

Celine, I'm with Kathy. You have found your place! I am exactly where you are mentally--I just am totally enjoying the freedom from weight worries that the band has provided me. I'm 2.5 years out and not actively trying to lose weight right now. Other people might be appalled that a BMI of 30-31 is acceptable, but considering what it could be otherwise I am one very satisfied bandster.

There's NOTHING wrong with moving to a new stage! Banding is for life. We can't actively be trying to lose weight all our lives, now, can we? If you're comfortable in your own skin and no longer worry about the risk of increasing obesity, THAT is banding success in my book.

WELCOME!!

Welcome Doll! I think you have found the right place too. We run the entire gambet from pre-band to post-band to rock-band.

I'm with the rest of the gang, I think an unfill might help with your nausea, other poeple have reported that they spent a month or so completely unfilled and that helped with their nausea.

There are so many different ways to measure success. Some only look at the scale, while others do our best to ignore it. (It isn't working for me, I'm concentrating on my health right now.) I measure my success with my list of NSVs, although a few SVs would go along way. But I digress.

I wouldn't sweat not being interested in not losing or even being interested in losing right now. Ye Gods Woman! You have your plate full, and probably don't need the added stress! But that's part of the beauty of the band, it will be there for you when you are ready. (Hugs Donali)

Celine, like Kathy said, there's something about you that I like :) While I'm still very much trying to actively lose weight, I think its great that you're at a place that you're comfortable in, for now. The band has helped you maintain and that is a huge accomplishment! Who knows, a year down the road you may feel like you want to lose more ... that's the great thing about the band - it'll still be there to help you.

There are people here from all walks of life and in every faucet of the weight game. You're sure to find others here that share your feelings.

In any event, welcome and I hope you stick around, cause we can always use more people who are as well spoken as you :D

This is the first I was able to get back to the computer and didn't even realize I had replies!! I just wanted to thank you ladies for your extremely warm welcome!! I hadn't looked at it as "maintaining" and really just sort of saw it as being a quiter. Thank you for helping me see it that way!!!

Now, I have to admit that this board is a little confusing to navigate! I will try to read and watch and see if I can figure out the system! For example, I just popped in on a thread, but it's posts were from back in December.. so I'm confused where your "today" threads are... I'm sure I'll figure it out!!

Thank you again!!! :-)

Celine, the board has Forums listed on the Main Page. Each Forum has Threads, listed by title from newest to oldest by the most recent post. If someone just posted something on a thread from December, it will pop up to the top of the list in the Forum it's under.

Best thing, log on and hit New Posts on the Blue bar at the top. Then you will get a list of threads you haven't read yet, newest to oldest, by the most recent post.

OH! I just noticed your sig! Yep, that's it!!!! Good for you, and I'm giving you instruction...:)

Celine

Each of us should have decided for ourselves to take this journey, each of us should decide for ourselves how to we want to travel. It is not a bad thing to focus on other things. Best of luck to you. Trish

I with everybody else...It's something I like about you! I think you are a huge success story. I was reading your post thinking, isn't this one of the promotional thingys about the band? I mean they always mention how you can take some time off for other things in life that may have pririoty over weight lost such as ptregnancy and them start over when you feel like it. You have maintained your weight fior this long and I don't call that giving up. You have a family and sound like you put your all into them. It seems like you eat well but maybe lack exercise and with a family like yours that can be difficult to do (it is for me).

Stick around and continue to be another example for why I want to be banded!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
