Any Longview, TX bandsters?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if there are any other bandsters in here from Longview, TX who might want to team up for support or walking?

How are you liking it so far? I actually posted this back in March when I still had my band. I had revision surgery in May to the sleeve. Do you hit any of the trails around here or go to any certain Gym's? My email is trishsmith2@yahoo.com if you want to chat sometime.

I didn't get your email. I'll check my spam folder. I'd live to know how you are doing. Bacca? I used a surgeon out of Dallas for my band and revision. He did an excellent job on both.

Trish, can I ask why you had a revision to the sleeve? Lap band not work?

I had my band for a little over a year. I went for a fill and they did a barium swallow and I was dilated over my band. They sent me for upper egd and my band had slipped. I was really lucky because I never had any pain. Honestly I was mad at time but am so thankful now because the sleeve is so much easier on eating. I still have to work to get the weight off but I never get stuck or slime. I did throw up once when I took one too many bites. I haven't had any left shoulder pain either. Aren't u in Longview too? Email me if u have any questions and I'll give u my phone number.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
