Feeling a Little Down....I Just Dont Understand

Recommended Posts

you have lost weight and other weight has shifted. Many times your posture and gait also changes which can cause knee, ankle and back pain.

Look at how you walk, look at your feet and shoes. You might need some new shoes with more arch support. If your center of gravity is off it will put stress on your joints, good shoes and support help center you back up.

If you are in the same shoes as when you first started they no longer fit you the same, believe it or not they dont. Start stretching, for the foot pain put a hand towel on the floor flat curl your toes under and bunch the towel under your foot with only your toes.

Good luck,

Vicky

I'm not sure what you mean by "can't take medicine becuase it is in pill form" ? Many pain meds come in liquid form, or can be safely cut up. No reason to be in pain. Are you seeing your regular doctor about all this? Many band docs are now allowing a few days or more of the NSAIDs, with caution and careful following, to get inflammatory pain like yours (it seems) under better contol. Hope you feel better...

I am sorry you are going through a lot. I do agree, I think your body is going through an adjustment and it will take time. Sometimes when I start having muscle and joint pain, I increase my Water intake and I try to eat more natural foods with less preservatives. It has helped me out a lot and then I don't have to take pain meds as often. It does get hard to eat that way and I revert back to less healthy choices. That is until the next time I am in pain. Keep us posted.

Jodi,

Have you been tested for autoimmune(sp?) disorders? They can be anthing from APS to Will's, but there are a couple types of arthritis and Lupus that can cause the symptoms you have, including the kidney trouble and depression. The only problem is that they can be tricky to find. Alot of Dr.s will chalk it up to being overweight and not look for underlying causes. And the blood test are not always accurate. For example the test for Lupus (ELSA panel) will come back negitive for 30% of people who have the disorder. If you can, take the time to see a good endocrinologist, and surf the web and see if the symptoms sound like you. Good Luck

Im having more tests run next week once Im re-hydrated....Im so confused, I got on lexapro today...the doctor thought I was taking Welbutrin, she forgot I couldnt take it.......So she freaked when she heard I went cold off the Anti-Depressant, so now Im on a crushable form......Liquid pain meds are quite strong, and Im allergic to a lot of them.........Ive tried all the docs in my area for anything and everything! Im gonna go back to school tomorrow and get some work, I have to start college next week, hope Im up to it......its just not good right now AT ALL. Im running high fevers and the fever reducers arent doing ANYTHING for it, so Im keeping a headache and chills. Mom doesnt care, she thinks its a fakeout I guess, I dunno....she needs her tonsils out so she thinks shes sicker than me.......its not a competition! ITS serious! I need some help and NO doctors will help me, except say LOSE WEIGHT! UGH! If one more doctor tells me that Im going to through something at their head! I HAVE A MIRROR I CAN SEE THAT! I HAD SURGERY! Anyways thats my gripe of the day

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
