You are not the only one! I was banded 1/25, lost 10 lbs on the pre-op diet and 10 lbs the week after surgery and since then I've GAINED 3-5 lbs. SO FRUSTRATING. I'm eating between 1000-1200 calories and it is so frustrating. I have my first fill next thursday.

Cat, yes I do use a waterproof MP3 player. I have no connection with any of these companies.<br /><a href='http://www.speedousa.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3839597&kwCatId=&kw=mp3&origkw=mp3&sr=1' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.speedousa...origkw=mp3&sr=1</a><br /><br />I don't like the headphones that come with it so I bought.<br /><a href='http://www.h2oaudio.com/store/waterproof-headphones/flex-waterproof-all-sport-buds-power-pink.html' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.h2oaudio....power-pink.html</a><br /><br />Hi maintenance I know!<br /><br />They are cheaper on Amazon.< /p>

Hold on - you just had surgery the end of Jan? According to my doctor you are to let your body heal the first 6 weeks....he told me not to stress about weight loss then as it was time to let my body heal. I actually gained a couple lbs before I got my first fill at 6 weeks post op, but it didn't bother me...as I was mentally prepared to not focus on weight loss until it was time.

Remember, you will be in "bandster hell" until you find your sweet spot - after my first fill I still got hungry between meals and noticed no change at all, really.....you have to keep with it until you find your spot. It is frustrating and it can take MONTHS before you get there and start to see a steady weight loss without feeling like you are dieting and hungry. But once you find your sweet spot - you will be fine....just please hang in there until you do!

In the meantime....be sure to get a LOT of Protein...your body needs it to heal itself and it will help keep you feeling fuller longer. I love to make Herbalife shakes with skim milk & ice and add 20g of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein to them...you can add fresh fruit to it to make a yummy smoothie. Also you can use sugar free pudding (about 1 tbs) to make some awesome shakes - I love to make chocolate and add cheesecake pudding....I usually have a shake for Breakfast every morning b/c I can't tolerate solids first thing in the morning...not until after 11 or so. I have found having a protein packed shake really gets my day off right - and keeps me from snacking as I am satisfied.

We are here to help you if you need ideas, motivation, etc....that's what I love about this board. If I get to feeling frustrated I can hop on here and get a boost!

Kim

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
