Was completely unfilled today

Recommended Posts

Hi all, So i was banded 5 months ago on September 11 and so far have lost 48 lbs which i am so happy about. I had 6.5 cc's in a 9 cc band and starting getting hungry so decided to make an appointment for Feb. 17, my dr. put 1 cc in and a day later I was soooo tight I was throwing up my saliva i called my surgeon but he wasn't available till today Feb. 22 so i went to his office this morning and he decided to take all of my fill out for 10 days then he will start slowly refilling. I am kinda dissapointed I mean I am a gym addict 5 days a week for 2 hours a day but I am afraid that i may mess up what I worked so hard for. i am absolutely starving but so far have not let myself over indulge. Has anyone else went thru this? If you did where you able to stay on track?

I've been in your shoes. I had a complete unfill in September, and it took a long time to get restriction back. I actually ended up gaining back weight. Right around when I was unfilled, I also sprained my ankle pretty badly, so not only was I able to eat normal, I couldn't do my normal work-outs :( Just try to make smart choices, keep up with your workouts, and keep your Water intake up. Good Luck!

Yep, I've been unfilled for four months so far. My rule is simply three meals a day, no snacking, ever, not even a mouthful and I've kept up my exercise. I havent gained an ounce, in fact I've lost weight.

Wow.. I can't believe I caught this post. I was banded May 5 2011 and I just had some Fluid taken out of my band yesterday. I had been having problems for a week at least. I was uncomfortable, not able to get much down. I was even puking up my medicine. I called my doc yesterday. He was at the hospital in surgery but he told me to come right over. Man.. I have a wonderful doctor and his nurse Lisa is awesome, too. I couldn't ask for better than that. He saw me between surgeries and took 1.5 cc's out of my band. He says my stomach needs time to heal from all of the irritation. I'm feeling so much better today.. but as you said, I'm afraid that I'm going to start eating more and mess up what I've worked so hard for. I'm down 59 pounds. I'll be watching this post because I'll also need some support to focus on Portion Control and just not eating until it's my meal time. No snacking or grazing. I have to break that cycle. It was easy before because my band wouldn't let me eat if I wanted to. I'm afraid that little devil on my shoulder might need a stern talking to until I get back to my doc in April for a fill.

Kudos to Jachut for being able to lose during an unfill period of time!

I bought some tiny dishes for things like Cereal, yogurt and even Pasta for dinner. I eat off small plates anyway. That REALLY helps. And the no snacking rule, just none, for no reason whatsoever. Its one rule to stick to, not a complicated program.

i was banded in 07 and had one total unfill mid 08 because i was so tired of the restriction and felt i wanted to try my "sea legs" and see if i could monitor myself, i couldn't. sooooo, luckily at that time i had a great chicago fill doc (vitello) and he filled me again after about 2-3 months before TOO much damage was done. i've had just 1 or 2 adjustments since then by him under ultrasound, the last one somewhere around beginning of 09 and i've been appropriately restricted since. if i get into periods where it starts to feel too tight i believe its irritated and i give it rest periods, meaning i'll go on liquids for a couple days, chicken broth being a staple. that seems to help relaxing the irritation/inflammation and then its back to normal band life.

i do have a question, my chicago doc stopped doing fills and i'm looking for a new fill place. i livein st louis and i'm willing to drive since st louis docs won't touch a mexican band. i am looking for an unfill because, believe it or not, i surpassed my goal and i can't stop losing. any suggestions in KC, chicago,, indie, st louis, memphis?

thanks and don't get discouraged, just hang on, practice good habits but don't beat yourself up. if we could do it without the band we would have so limp along until you get your tool back

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
