1 week banded

Recommended Posts

Hello, I was banded 02/10/2011 i'm down 23 lbs (including 15 pre op) I have a question about soreness.....

I fell really sore by my belly button and if you feel my stomach it's quite hard and you can feel a large "knot" i guess?

My questions is if it's normal to still be sore a week out or if it's normal since i'm healing?

It is very normal ! Its going to be sore for a little bit and swollen! You will start feeling fully normal in probably another week or so! But no worrys unless its just so unbearable you can't take it! Good luck with your lapband and congrats on the weight loss!

I found out today it's my port lol I thought it was on my side guess not!

Congrats on the band I was banded on Wed 2/16 and feeling pretty darn good, I've walked everyday except when the rain got in the way. Of course I'm sore but bearable. I actually have taken the pain meds at night it's helped me sleep great. I'm hoping the soreness goes away soon I've got an important golf tourney coming up in a short time.... I played catch with my son today I was sore throwing but i was very very careful.....

I was banded on 2-14 and I'm really sore and gassy! I can't wait for this gas to go away : ) Good luck all

I got banded 2/14 also and have no more gas but random discomfort. The only thing I'm taking now is my multi Vitamin. I'm very tight in my stomach when I first wake up and it takes me a while to get out of bed physically. Other than that I'm pretty good.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
