Possibly overate?

Recommended Posts

Last night for dinner I may have eaten a little to much and that includes some bread. I do not have any fill yet. Ever since then my stomach has been bothering me. Just uncomfortable, not unbelievable pain or anything. I still am getting a little hungry, not like I have been though.

Do you think I should go to Protein shakes for the rest if the day and maybe tomorrow? Not sure if it is just that I ate to much and irritated something. I also had a hiatal hernia repair during surgery. DO you think I could have done any real damage?

How many days post op are you? Are you supposed to be on solids? I might go to liquids for a day. You could be swollen from over eating.

I doubt you've harmed yourself. But if really concerned, call your doctor. That's one of the things that banding requires.. support from the bariatric professionals.

I wouldn't go to liquids UNLESS you're having pain or issues with getting stuck. One of the cardinal guidelines of banding is no liquid calories, once past the healing phase. Make sure what you do eat is cut in very small bites, size of a #2 pencil eraser and chew well.

Make yourself a cup of hot tea of whatever flavor you like and sip on it a bit. That may make you feel better.

Good luck.

Yeah I was told not to do liquid calories, but it was just a thought. I will try for dinner to cut smaller and chew better and see if it feels ok

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
