This site is so helpful - txs

Recommended Posts

For the past 2 months I've been miserable - only able to eat slidder foods - never being able to keep down solid food. I just kept thinking that I wasn't chewing enough or taking to big of bites. Of course, I also wasn't loosing much, because as soon as I got thru getting rid of what was stuck, I would eat something easy, which was usually not "looser weight" friendly.

Anyway, last night was the worst. I had finally became so sick, I couldn't keep liquids down, couldn't lay down & felt like I was choking. I didn't know what to do, but after spending most of the night on-line, I figured it out - I needed to call my doctor.

What I thought was normal, was not - I was too tight. This morning she took out 1 cc & I'm finally starting to feel better. I just want to let everyone know, that this site is so helpful - not only did it help me understand what was happening to me, it helped me be able to communicate what was going on to my Dr.

Tx again

Been there, done that. I had them take 2.75cc out of my band in mid-July because I was getting stuck on everything but the bad for you sliders. I'm back up 2cc and have some restriction. I'm thinking *maybe* another .25cc or less and I'll be at the sweet spot.

Rstoun...you will learn waaaaaaaay more on LBT than you will from your doc and his staff (at least that is was I have gotten from many posts on this site). There's so much info to take in and learn from the experience of others.

Hope you stick around for the pure benefit of picking up tips and to share your experience also.

Hope this unfill puts you on the right tract and you can start to eat more healthy foods and see the benefit from that. Good luck!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
