I too have PCOS, and have been bleeding like it is going out of style. I was bleeding all the time, so they put me on Birth control. I have just been banded on the 12th, so I don't know yet how my periods will be. BUT, I have heard that when you lose weight like you have, the periods will regulate themselves, and we won't bleed so much.

Well, I hope that is it...cause I would love to throw my BC out the window! Good Luck with everything!!

I have PCOS and am a super heavy clotting bleeder as well. My period starts at a regular time 28 days, but can be really heavy and last a long time. I had my surgery on September 3rd and just finally got my period the other day. It was pretty late and not anywhere NEAR as heavy as it normally is. It's been kinda nice having a "normal" period without going through a tampon or pad every 15 minutes! LOL

My regular doctor told me when you are doing low carb like I've been doing since getting the surgery and losing weight...you may start to regulate. He said that many women after losing some weight find that they were never able to get pregnant before...but suddenly find themselves pregnant....so he actually suggested that I think about going back on the pill or some form of birth control although I haven't for a long time since I was not able to get pregnant.

Your period will come....your body is probably still in shock from the trauma of having surgery

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
