Beginning the Journey

Hey Y'all! Well, I'm really new here- just starting the lap band weight loss journey. Hopefully this will finally be my last weight loss journey! I've got a blog going (San Diego Lap Band Blog ) and I'm doing weekly videos to chronicle the changes I anticipate (and also to keep me on track ;-D ) . I'm also facebooking at San Diego Lap Band | Facebook

So far I've had one appointment with the doctor, learned that my insurance won't cover any of it, and made the decision that I'm going to do it anyway.

I haven't completely picked the doctor yet, I figured that I'd meet with several and then pick one.

I'm still researching all the little details that I didn't think to ask about and hope that here I will learn a ton!

I have been up and down and up and down for the past 10 years, since I got pregnant with my now 9 year old son. In that time I've gained and lost a couple of supermodels!

Most of my friends, with one exception are super skinny and just don't get it. My husband included. They tell me that I don't need diets, I don't need surgery, I should just stop eating too much! I told them that when they gain and lose 100 lbs, then they can comment on my weight loss trials and tribulations, but that until then, sorry, their opinion is not worth much.

That's why I'm so glad to find y'all! People who get it and can cheer me on, and cry with me. Plus all of your stories are so inspirational!

I can't wait to join the "I love the way I look naked" club! Right now I'm in the "can I wear pants in the shower" club.

Well, that's about all for the first post I guess! Nice to meet y'all! :wink2:
