I'm leaving tomorrow to go to Disney and something just popped in my head. I'm sure it will be ok but just want comfirmation......is it ok to be riding rollercoasters and thrill rides with the band? I'm more concerned about hurting my port than my band since my port is so close to the surface and can get tender from anything physical.

Glad to hear you liked Hersheypark. I'm a local and my son works there. I love to get his employee passes and go for free! Rollercoasters are no problem for the band. In fact, they're a lot more fun because I get more airtime now that I'm so much lighter.

Enjoy your trip to Disney!

Cindy

I am a Disney addict!! I just wanted to wish you a great trip!! You're going to love every second!!

I don't see issues with your band. Maybe if you're concerned about port irritation at the surface, get soft, fluffy bandages to cover it in case the bar from certain rides rubs against it!!!

My problem is my blood pressure has dropped so much I can't handle it any more. :cursing: Very sad about that part of it.

But with a resting pressure of 90/60 or a little less it doesn't have far to drop before I pass out.

We just came back from Disney and I rode all the coasters with absolutely no problem! That was a great NSV moment for me because I didn't 'just barely fit'...I fit comfortably! First time in 17 years that I've been able to ride the coasters! Woot!

I was a bit worried about those that had restraints that went over the shoulders, fearing the bottom part would push against my port, but they were all fine.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the feedback! I never thought about the band being an issue until yesterday and I'm so glad everything will be fine! I am an Orlando addict!!

Disney, Universal & Seaworld, here I come!!!!!!! :cursing:

(for anyone else who loves the rides, Cedar Point in OH is awesome too!!)

Have a great week everyone!!

I have done some roller coasters and other crazy rides ( and bungee jumping strapped at my waist) and I have never had a problem.

You might however notice you don't get the butterflies in your stomach feeling. Thats what happened to me. It was so weird!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
