I got banded yesterday October 7th!!! And i'm scared because there is minimal pain. It just feels like i did sit ups too fast. Did anyone else feel this way???

So happy to know you are feeling so well!

My incisions or port never caused me pain. They were tender from bumps in the car or, if you can believe this, walking on gravle. (How odd!) But no surgical related things caused me pain. I ate well and 1 and a half months out have never thrown up.

The only pain I had, and it was significant, was the gas caught under my left shoulder, and sternum. The Co2 they put in you to make your abdomen larger for a safer surgery causes this kind of pain. If you develop it, walk, walk, walk. That helped me the most and is what most people seem to say on here.

Do everything we bansters are to do and lets hope it keeps you feeling great! Good luck!!!

Congratulations, emeraldinthesky!

Yep, I felt the same way. I'm about 3 weeks out and I never did experience any pain. I think we're among the lucky few.

Your alright Emerald.

I was banded on 8/16 and I had no pain either from the surgery and minimal gas pain. When someone asked if I felt like I had done a lot of sit-ups I couldn't even say it felt that bad.

If I didn't have this port sticking out I would wonder if I'm really banded

We are the fortunate ones. count your blessings.

your port sticks out? My doc said I wouldn't even know it was there unless I felt around for it

Your port is probably placed in a different location than mine. Different Dr's use different placements.

My port is kinda in the middle of my chest , I would say btwn my breasts more toward the lower right side.

I can clearly see it under my skin .

It doesn't bother me .

WOW!! Congrats on no pain!! I wish that woulda been me...LOL

As for ports..mine is just to the left of my belly button...

Thanx, I had no pain at all. I asked for a pain killer the night of my surgery hoping it would put me to sleep but not for pain. I didn't go to sleep but I was ok staying awake dreaming of how I will look now that I'm banded.

I had no pain then but I am struggling now to find a regimen so that I can start losing consistently and have the energy to exercise as I should.

Herraven...there is a lap banded woman that has a vlog on youtube . I think her name is Butterflybegins. She is at goal and her port is about where mine is and it sticks out like a golf ball too but I think she's like me . If it doesn't bother her she's not bothering it. She is on there in a bikini but I will never be out like that so I'm OK. I'm too mature (code for old :)) and my thighs are too big to do that. So, as long as I look good in my clothes I'm cool.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
