Is this the band?

Recommended Posts

So I hadn’t eating in over 8 hours and then all of a sudden I woke up from sleeping this AM coughing and then dry heaved once and then again when I made it to the bathroom. Now the weather has been pretty bad here going from hot to cold. I know my sinuses are stuffed and draining. Before the band I had this problem of sinuses draining and dry heaving. But I must admit I also ate something I shouldn’t have last night at dinner. I had a band fill 4 days ago today. I can keep fluids down and I am working on a yogurt right now which is going okay.. I’m just wondering if my band could be too tight or if this whole thing is my sinuses.

Also off note I am due to start my period today and I always notice I am tighter during that time.

It's probably the combo of weather changes, sinuses, TOM and poor food choice.

Take it easy today and try drinking something warm (tea, coffee or even warm Water with lemon) before your meals..especially Breakfast. The warm liquids help to clear mucus and relax your band just a tad.

If you find you need to drink the warm stuff WITH your food for ALL meals, not just Breakfast, to let it go down, you might indeed be too tight.

hope this helps

I am most def. tighter in the A.M and have trouble with almost anything for breakfast. A drink is usually required then but lunch and dinner I am okay.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
